Boulevard, CA (91905): History and Local Information

Boulevard, CA (91905) lies in the desert area of the Mountain Empire area of southeastern San Diego County. It is a rural area off State Route 94 and old Highway 80 near the US -Mexican border. Earliest inhabitants are the Cocopah and Kumeyaay Indians, leading to much cultural history and archeological findings. Those trailblazers crossing through the desert areas created trails through the trees for shade. In 1852, George McCain and his family settled in a valley later known as McCain Valley. Cattle did quite well in the area. Another person, George Ruby, started a ranch nearby, turning it into a small tourist area complete with post office and a store. Highway 80, built in 1917, made it easier for tourists to reach the small high desert communities such as Boulevard. The Manzanita Band of Diegueno Mission Indians has their headquarters in Boulevard.

Boulevard, CA (91905): Neighborhoods and Community

Three small communities, Tierra Del Sol, Live Oak Springs and Manzanita are near the Boulevard area. Those with landlines share the service provider and phone center as Pueblo Siding, Calexico Lodge, and Jacumba. High school students attend Mountain Empire High School, located in Pine Valley. Marie's Restaurant is in the La Posta Casino, smallest casino in San Diego County. Marie's produces a great breakfast and delicious Native American taco platter. The Sacred Rocks RV Park is named in respect of the cultural respect of the Native Americans for the land and all living things. It is an up to date park with showers, laundry, swimming pool, WiFi and areas for RV and tent camping, and offers hiking and biking opportunities, in addition to stargazing and a labyrinth.

Boulevard, CA (91905): Home Improvement

Weather is the number one factor for requirements involving home repair. Even building exteriors built by the best professionals bend to the power of the harsh reality of heat, wind, cold and rain, which reduces the life expectancy of paint, concrete, wood and stucco. Solar power is certainly an enticing item in any area of San Diego County, particularly communities that run along the Mexican border. Even high in the mountains, the sun provides opportunities for solar energy installers to ensure homeowners have this economical means of electricity. When thinking of landscape, the important thing to remember is that water is at a premium, leaving room for creativity while designing patterns and areas that reflect the ambience of the community. Electricians and carpenters receive calls to upgrade the interiors of businesses and homes, in addition to decks and covered porches on the outside of homes.
